“Thanks to my guide dog, my world has opened up again.”

Before I got my first guide dog, I was going out less and less on my own. Navigating with a white cane isn’t always easy — obstacles are everywhere, and just stepping outside felt more and more daunting.

In 2018, I received my first dog from Scale Dogs: Pax. She gave me back my freedom. When she passed away from cancer eight years later, I felt lost again — until Vedi came into my life. He’s my second guide dog from Scale Dogs.

Since then, everything has changed. Vedi not only helps me move around safely — he’s also my best friend. He’s always there: cheerful, loyal, and ready for every outing. Thanks to him, I dare to go out alone again. I move faster, more confidently, and with ease.

A guide dog’s impact goes far beyond the practical. It’s social, emotional — and truly life-changing.
