Whisper is now Dina’s official autism assistance dog!

Whisper has graduated as the official autism assistance dog for Dina. This means that Whisper is not only a support in Dina’s daily life, but also a recognized companion who can accompany Dina to public places.

Whisper’s Tasks

As an autism assistance dog, Whisper has a wide range of tasks that improve Dina’s daily life.

Whisper offers Dina support when she is overwhelmed, for example, by going to her and comforting her. Dina also has a bell in her room at home because she often doesn’t feel safe walking through the dark hallway alone. Once the bell rings, Whisper knows exactly what to do: she comes to Dina to help her.

At night, Whisper is always by Dina’s side. She sleeps in Dina’s room and provides comfort when Dina experiences stress or anxiety. Her presence helps Dina feel safer, even in the quiet of the night.

When Dina is out in public, Whisper is her loyal companion. She can bark on command as a signal that Dina needs help, for instance, when she can’t see or hear her parents immediately. In busy environments, like stores, Whisper helps create space around Dina so she feels less overwhelmed. Whisper can also bring Dina to her parents if they are further away, providing extra calm and reassurance.

Whisper can guide Dina through sensory overload and distractions, both when she is walking and when she is in her wheelchair. This makes her an indispensable support in any situation.
